The Philadelphia Orchestra is creating a new choral ensemble for performance dates in 2016-17, the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir. These positions are paid per performance run, and performance dates are below. A roster of singers is being built and based on audition results/choir size/ singer availability, each choir will be named shortly. An audition will be held:
Saturday, May 7, 10 AM – 3 PM
Kimmel Center – Rendell Room (3rd floor backstage)
Please send an e-mail with your interest to the above e-mail address and you will be given an audition time and further instructions. Please do not contact the Orchestra or the Kimmel Center directly. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a headshot and a resume. You will be asked to prepare the following:
- One piece of your choosing in English, excerpted no longer than two minutes
- One piece of your choosing in either French, Italian, or German, excerpted no longer than two minutes
- You will be asked to sight read
- There will also be a brief interview

ORFF: Carmina burana
December 8-10, 2016
Handel: Messiah
Decemeber 18, 2016
MAHLER: Symphony No. 3
May 18-21, 2017
