The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) announces the opening of Resident Conductor to begin during the 2022-23 concert season.
Applications must be received no later than: Monday, March 7, 2022 at 5pm.
Candidates who are selected as finalists will be notified by Thursday, March 31, 2022, and given the repertoire list and details for live auditions.
Live auditions and interviews for finalists will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Ontario.
The audition process will include a morning rehearsal with the TSO, an interview with the search committee, and a prepared written exercise which will be presented to the search committee.
The successful candidate(s) will be notified on or before May 2, 2022.
Terms of Contract:
July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024.
Compensation will be discussed at the time the position is offered

The 2022/2023 forty-three week season includes a weekly scale fee of $1,928.03. Yearly minimum for players in the 2022/23 season is $85,000. Five of these weeks are paid non-service weeks, with one additional vacation week and two string relief weeks scheduled at the TSO’s convenience.
Other Benefits: Long term disability insurance, Sick leave, 10% CFM-Musicians Pension Fund of Canada contribution.
