The Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy (PRISMA) offers a unique program that prepares music students and young professionals for a career in music performance.

It is designed to assist students in obtaining the necessary tools to win a position in a professional orchestra. PRISMA students work with internationally renowned artists from the world’s finest symphony orchestras. During the intensive program students are immersed in an in-depth orchestral training program and enjoy the chamber music concerts by the outstanding faculty.
PRISMA takes place in the stunning setting of the British Columbia coastal town Powell River, the perfect setting for music-making.
Affordable Half Fellowships
PRISMA offers half fellowships to all students who are accepted to the program in 2013. The program tuition fee of $500 (instead of the previous $1090) gives this year's PRISMA students a unique opportunity to work with the elite musicians of the faculty.

PRISMA was established in 2012 to continue the summer symphony academy and music festival that was initiated by the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific (SOAP). SOAP was established in 2003 by the Powell River Academy of Music. By carrying on the excellent work that SOAP displayed over nine seasons, PRISMA will contribute to the world of fine music and to the cultural richness of the region.

PRISMA's unique program is a bridge between the education students receive at a university/conservatory and their professional lives as orchestral musicians. The comprehensive program assists advanced students in obtaining a position in a professional orchestra. The program is also very valuable for undergraduates. It helps develop skills for their future studies and builds confidence for student recitals and exams.
